Mortgage Company Nightmares

The last two years have been tough years for my family financially speaking.  I thank GOD that we are all happy and healthy.  It takes a lot for my husband and I to make it appear to the kids that all is well.  Like many Americans we owe more on our home than it is worth.  We have continuously asked our bank (SunTrust)  if they would simply lower our interest rate.  We didn't ask for any favors (reduce the principal) or anything unethical.  They have repeatedly refused to do this one thing.  They tell us that our house will not appraise for the amount we owe.  We already owe them that amount and are still willing to pay it.  We just want a lower interest rate.
To add insult to injury they are always changing our mortgage payment.  They use the escrow account as an excuse claiming that there needs to be a minimum amount in escrow at all times.  I don't mean they slightly change the mortgage payment.  It just went up 110 dollars a month.  We can barely pay the previous amount.
I really don't know what we are going to do.  We rarely go out to eat.  We do not vacation.  We have old used cars.  We have not made any improvements on the house.  Our new air conditioner and water heaters are broken (this is a whole other story).  My husband works two jobs.  One of them takes him away from home on the weekends.  It's sad because he is missing time with the kids.  Unfortunately,  there doesn't  seem to be any other way to keep up with the mortgage and all of the other expenses.  I work full-time as well.
The silver lining in all of this is that instead of making our marriage weaker it has made it stronger.  We are tied together for a purpose.  We are neither of us quitters.  We are like soldiers in a war.  Pretty trippy huh!
